Known Limitations
Current limitations, free tier constraints, and known issues in MemNexus.
This page documents current limitations, what's not yet available, and known issues.
Free tier limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Memories held | 1,000 at once |
| Memories created | 1,000 per calendar month |
| Retention | 90 days |
| API rate limit | Shared (not per-plan yet) |
These are two separate limits, not one. You can hold up to 1,000 memories at once, and create up to 1,000 new memories per calendar month.
MCP server
The MCP server is functional but under active development. You may encounter connection issues when using it with Claude Desktop, Cursor, or other MCP clients. If MCP isn't working for you, the CLI and SDK provide the same functionality.
Known MCP issues:
- Occasional connection drops requiring client restart
- Some tools may return incomplete error messages
- Configuration varies by AI client — check the integration guides for your specific platform
Not yet available
- Mobile-optimized experience — The dashboard works on mobile browsers but isn't optimized for small screens
- Enterprise features — No SSO directory sync, audit logs, or SLAs
- Rate limiting by plan — Rate limits are shared across all tiers
- Bulk operations — Multi-select delete and bulk actions in the dashboard are not available
Known issues
| Issue | Workaround |
|---|---|
| Dashboard may show stale data after creating memories via CLI | Refresh the page |
| Search relevance may vary for very short queries (1-2 words) | Use more descriptive queries |
| Account deletion is not yet fully implemented | Contact us directly if you need your account deleted |
